How innRoad started

Back in 2000, while helping friends of the family (i.e. Gurney's Inn in Montauk, NY) strategize how they would put their resort on the web, Murat Ozsu realized that they were in for an up hill battle. Not only did their existing system not have it's own web module, but all of the detail such as package components, specific room inventory, restrictions and availability did not translate well to what early booking engines could manage and none of it would be real-time. This meant that Gurney's was in for long afternoons of tedious accounting-type work: manually updating room inventories, pouring over night audit reports, and setting up rate schedules on multiple systems. All this effort just to keep the business going, never mind tending to the needs of their guests.

Murat started to wonder if there wasn’t a better way to manage the Inn. And so he began thinking about building what would become innRoad.

Game-changing technologies

Murat’s personal experience–along with his career in application development–led him to create the technologies which make innRoad so unique, useful and intuitive:

  • A web-based, or “Software-as-a-Service (SaaS),” delivery model that removes the burden of software ownership from hotel owners;
  • And a seamlessly integrated suite of services that includes property management, bookings and central reservations, global distribution and marketing–all on a single, easy-to-use platform.

After several years of planning and two years of development, innRoad was launched in October, 2007. Because it solves the problems plaguing independent hotel owners in a radically new way, it is quickly attracting customers from around the country and around the world.
