The Honking Goose Inn, a cozy 5 room property located in Amsterdam, Ohio, offers guests a chance to relax in nature with a lake on property and access to hiking trails that pass-through groves of pine trees and hidden meadows. The property is owned by Jennifer Ray and her husband, Jim, who operate the property with just two other staff members.
Owning a small bed and breakfast was a dream for Jennifer and Jim. “It was all about the people we would meet,” explained Jennifer. “It has been great meeting different people from quite a distance from us. People travel four, five or even eight hours to stay with us,” said Jennifer.
But, by managing their operations manually, her system didn’t match the high level of customer support she wanted to provide her guests.
“Managing our hotel manually was not precise. We weren’t able to offer our guests information on which room we had available, and we had to worry about overbookings.”
Ready for a Change
Although Jennifer and Jim knew that switching to a software would help their property, they worried about the technology that would come along with the switch. “We had considered switching, but the idea was very daunting.
