The Bond Hotel located in Boise, Idaho serves as a great option for extended stay visitors to the area. Guests love the property’s location: a quiet residential area with little traffic, but a short five-minute drive to up and coming downtown Boise. Jason Purkiss, the hotel owner and GM, is responsible for operating this 57 room property with a small staff of seven people.
When Purkiss joined the property last year, he insisted they make the switch to a web based PMS rather than continue with their manual methods. While the software helped the Bond Hotel connect to OTAs and add a booking engine to their website, issues started to arise.
“Our biggest problem was that they didn’t work in our time zone,” explained Purkiss. “Whenever we had a problem, we couldn’t get a hold of someone until the next day to solve the problem, and by then it was usually too late.”After a series of problems, Purkiss knew it was time to make a change.
While looking for a new PMS, Purkiss wanted to make sure it would still deliver all the features he liked from his old software. When Purkiss found innRoad, a company that not only featured all his non-negotiable, but also had a 24/7 support team for a low cost, he was sold.
Purkiss quickly discovered that innRoad’s software was the solution to the problems he was having with his old PMS. “With our old software, you could check someone out without taking their payment, which led to problems when we were calculating revenue later, explained Purkiss. “With innRoad you can’t make mistakes like that. innRoad’s financial management is really great.”
Along with innRoad’s reporting tools, Purkiss appreciated innRoad’s ability for individualization. “The automated, personalized e-mails that are sent to clients are they make a reservation are really useful,” explained Purkiss.
Purkiss found the software easy to use and navigate, and was also pleased that he could now self-administer the service, rather than be reliant on a support team like his old software company.
Since implementing innRoad’s software last year, the Bond Hotel has continued to increase occupancy and revenue while maintaining a small staff. “innRoad’s software has been well worth the expense we pay for it,” said Purkiss. “It is extremely valuable to have a system that can manage and track our money and having access to a team you can call if you need any help.”
